Important

While you wait, please do not block the hole

It is the one thing that reliably makes a wasp problem worse, and it is the mistake we are called out to most.

A sealed colony does not die. It chews a new way out, and the softest material is almost always the internal plaster lining rather than the external wall - so the wasps end up inside the house instead of outside it.

Leave the entry point completely alone until we have treated it.
Keep children and pets away from that side of the property.
Do not attack the nest in daylight - half the colony is out foraging and will return to a disturbed nest.
Do not use a ladder beside an active nest. The fall is the serious injury.
If it turns out to be bees, do not spray them - we remove those alive.

If someone has been badly stung

Call 000 immediately if anyone shows swelling of the face or throat, difficulty breathing, dizziness or a widespread rash after a sting — whether or not they have a known allergy. Once everyone is safe, call us on 0436 389 114 and we will prioritise the job.
